Gettin' Dirty (Suburb Style)

Our anniversary present from my mom and dad arrived today. No, this isn't the wrong picture. It may be a little unorthadox, but it was a welcome gift. They have recently been taking opportunities such as this to give us "sanity" gifts - things that will keep the kids occupied and happy and thus relieve stress from us individually and as a couple. Seth has been having lots of fun with it all afternoon, especially since the cover has inlaid tracks for his cars. It's not quite as big of a hit as "Herbie Car," which mom brought when she came to visit. Seth is consumed with Herbie the Love Bug and points out bugs everywhere we go. So it's natural that the little die cast bug mom brought him last week has almost never left his hand. He also calls it Gramma Car sometimes. We thought about getting a water table to go with the sand table, but realized he already has a very large one that also doubles as a pool occasionally. When Joel has time to play in the pool with him, Seth likes to get in and blow bubbles and splash around, but otherwise he uses it like a huge water table for his toys. Everything gets thrown in...he uses his tee-ball bat to fish them out...one by one the toys get thrown across the lawn...the cycle repeats. $15 at Target was never spent so well. Here are some pictures of Joel and Seth playing/flying last night.

Showing off his bubble making skills to mom. Otherwise known as cheap swimming lessons.

He made Joel do this MANY, MANY times. I think Joel's going to be sore. Notice that little boys (at least our's) must have a ball and/or car in hand at all times to really feel secure, or else maybe they just need to feel like they could play at a moment's notice.

Our little LeBret boy. There's not much of me showing up anymore!

  1. Is Benjamin liking the cereal more each day? I'm glad that it helped with his sleeping pattern. Seth loves the water! Have you received your Montessori materials yet? I suppose they are going to take several weeks to arrive.
